Guest rocketdriver Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Not sure what to use / where to get labels for things like fuses, switches etc on the new panel, nor where to get the mandatory "amateur built" warning sign and the fireproof identificaton plaque. Any suggestions please .... TIA RD
FlyingVizsla Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Aircraft Spruce have a wide range of decals - placards http://www.aircraftspruce.com. The passenger warning signs are for the USA LSA's though. Check the RAA for their wording. Sue
djpacro Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 A bit of stainless steel plate and a visit to your local aircraft mechanic to use his stamps will get your data plates done. I guess that the Clear Prop shop here could also get your placards from the USA. I recall a local supplier somewhere too - it was probably an ad in the Aviation Trader. (You can also get them made locally at one of the commercial shops to your specs but that seems like the hard way to go about it.)
Admin Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Will any of these help: http://www.recreationalflying.com/shop/maintenance-and-parts.html
Guest rocketdriver Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Yes, they might Ian ....do you have better images so I can see what labels there are?
Admin Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 This is the best I can get...took a photo of one
sfGnome Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Amusing to note that two of the labels on Ian's sheet are "Lighter" and "Ash Tray". Wonder where we'd use those??
Guest rocketdriver Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Hi Dexter .. black plastic labels is what I had in mind .... did the engraver supply the plastic too?
Guest rocketdriver Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 "Lighter" is obviously for use on the burner control for a hot air balloon!
Admin Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 "Lighter" is obviously for use on the burner control for a hot air balloon! and the words "After Burner" is too long for the switch
eightyknots Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Amusing to note that two of the labels on Ian's sheet are "Lighter" and "Ash Tray". Wonder where we'd use those?? I think it was meant to be Cash Tray, a place to store those unwanted 5 cent and 10 cent pieces.
