Tomo Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Took the Jabiru 120 up for a flight yesterday afternoon, hadn't flown it for nearly 2 months, so was great to get back into it again - and what a glorious day for it! - Took off in Dalby and tracked to our place at Cecil Plains, then headed into Toowoomba, landed there for a few minutes, then headed back to Dalby. Was a fantastic flight
facthunter Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Well, now you're really back, aren't you. Nev
Tomo Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 What motor(size) and hp does a 120 have in it? 80hp 2200 Jabiru motor. ==== Thanks Nev
Relfy Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Great vid Tomo, which way did you come into Toowoomba from?
Tomo Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 Great vid Tomo, which way did you come into Toowoomba from? I went direct from Cecil to Toowoomba, then direct Toowoomba to Dalby via Oakey base. Controlled and restricted areas weren't active obviously.
Guest davidh10 Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Nicely produced Tomo. Makes me want to go flying, but unfortunately we are afflicted with low cloud and heavy rain showers at the moment. Had 15mm in 16 minutes last night (78mm in the 24 hours to 09:00 this morning), and then just settled into steady rain all night... There's going to be more flooding me thinks. After dinner, had to drive through 20cm of water in the right lane of the main street. Water was right through the fried chook car park and you could have pulled up at their drive thru in a rubber ducky! Deepest I've seen in that location.
Tomo Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 Great vid Tomo, thanks. Good to see the ball in the middle and the VSI = 0. Interesting reading on the ALT :-) Haha, thanks - yeah flying the hemisphericals.... I don't know!! Thanks for the compliments everyone. It was good to get back into it - I didn't have time to turn the camera on in Toowoomba for video unfortunately - arrived there and the circuit was busy as, with inbound RPT, warbirds, choppers etc... so I was keeping the head outside for that one!
Guernsey Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I liked the video but really liked the music. Next time could you introduce some piano playing just as you land on those ivory keys at the start of the runway? Alan.
Ballpoint 246niner Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Me too Tomo!- I've got about 5 students under 20 y.o. at the moment and I have visions for all of them to be where you were yesterday. Good work mate, keep it up(right)!
