noonsio Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Hi everybody, can anyone tell me more about the electric trike by icaro designed by manfred rhumer. looks interesting . keen to own my own flying machine, price is the problem. cheers:wave:
Guest davidh10 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 An interesting concept, but even its home web site has very little data. No stall or cruise speeds and very short flight times. The batteries look expensive and need to be replaced after several hundred cycles. Is there any support in Australia. Local support is important. What are its capabilities in less than perfect conditions? Will you be able to fly in a 30kn wind? Wind at altitude is often well above the speed on the ground. I reckon you could pick up a second hand 2 stroke Airborne trike for the same cost. Greater endurance. It depends too on your flying objectives. With a 2 seater, you can take a passenger. I hope someone can give you some specific experience. You are asking in the right place.
noonsio Posted February 14, 2011 Author Posted February 14, 2011 Thanks for your information. The whole concept seems to have a grey area. anyway will keep on looking for something suitable. Cheers Noonsio.
