Oasis's Jabirus are RAA registered, so you would end up with an RAA certificate.

That said: they are both an RA and GA school, so they can do your navs to the PPL syllabus. That means when you have the RA-Aus certificate and x-country endorsement, you can easily upgrade to PPL in their Piper. All you need is:

- PPL theory exam (you can probably do this instead of the RA-Aus nav exam, no need to do two)

- 2 hours instrument flying

- Check ride with CASA ATO.

Then if you want to go on your own, hire the cheap Jabiru and if you need a four seater, get the Piper. Best of both worlds.

How do you go about learning to fly an RAA jabiru in controlled ymmb?

Oasis is listed as being at Point Cook on the RA-Aus website. That may well be where you have to do your solo navs from. But with instructor, you're good to go in CTA. And when you have your PPL, you can fly pretty much any (properly equipped) RA-Aus high performance aircraft in CTA.

ozipilot,

depending on what is at the school in regard to the Jab, they can be both RAA and GA registered......if you do ur RAA license and x country in a RAA registered jab, u can then simply convert to PPL in the same/similar type of Jab if its GA reg'd....saves on aircraft conversion....

No need to speculate on the aircraft; according to the school's website, it's RA-Aus. They are also a registered RA-Aus FTF. Registered at Point Cook, not Moorabin, that is.
