Guest mudjeep Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Last monday I arrived home in my new plane after an epic 15 hours of flying over three days, from Watts Bridge QLD to Goulburn NSW, overnighting at Glen Innes and Narromine. It's a 95.10 single seat JDT Himax. It has a MTOW of 280kg and is powered by a 42HP Rotax 447. It uses the Armstrong starting method.
Guest mudjeep Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Trying to upload pics but it seems I need to resize them first. Here's one for now - will do some more this afternoon.
pete8862 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Good on you, I tossed up weather to look at that one myself but my wife wants to fly with me. Pete
facthunter Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Nice BIG rudder. The undercarriage in those things does not have much "give" in it. Good work. Hope you enjoy it. Nev
Spin Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Well done mate, I'd admired that one out at Watts, seemed nicely put together. That's an impressive delivery flight - how about some more detail and a few photos?
eastmeg2 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Well done Jason, about time too. When can we expect to see you drop in? Cheers, Glen
eightyknots Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Nice one, Jason. Are there any more pictures coming of your flight?
Guest davidh10 Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 ... It uses the Armstrong starting method. I haven't heard that description for many years Congratulations on your first aircraft. Be careful not to have too much fun.
Guernsey Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 What a beautiful little aircraft, it is good to see a genuine Armstrong 95-10. With an aircraft like that why would you want to go to an expensive two seater when you could expand the 95-10 stable by BUYING ONE FOR YOUR WIFE then you could have twice the fun. Just imagine the times you could engage in mortal aerial combat after some of those very insignificant arguments we get during married life. Alan.
robinsm Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 It will be great to see another "little one" in the skies around Goulburn. Congrats on the Himax, must have been a great trip down!!!!
farri Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Goodonya Mudjeep!!! Real pilots fly taildragers!!! :peepwall: Frank.
Guest mudjeep Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Okay here's some more pics. They were all taken by my wife on arrival in Goulburn. I tried taking some while airborne but the camera on my phone did crazy things with the spinning prop.
Ultralights Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Very neat! sure the hangar in the background is big enough for it though! :)
J170 Owner Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 Where's Watts bridge? Google Earth has no idea.
