Guest studentbiggles Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Just found this site. Flying a Glasair last 16years & am interested in an amphib LSA sometime. BB Welcome aboard AMPHIBONE, great you have you here........Fly's a Glasair my dream A/C......and like you, one day just love to fly, own A/C that can land on the "Watery" stuff Looking forward to hearing your comments. Fly Safe....................Alley
Guest AMPHIBONE Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Check out Super Petrel LSA and Seamax LSA. LSA prices are up there but manufacturers don't have the volumes to drop them.
dazza 38 Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Welcome Amphibone, nice airfield Murwillumba.I hope you enjoy it here.
Guest AMPHIBONE Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Yep, can see Mt Warning from the hangar back door, and no CTA. Tweed Shire Council pleased to have us there....
Spin Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Welcome Amphibone, nice machine you've got yourself there. Still haven't seen the Seamax in the flesh but looks pretty in the photos, I have been very impressed with the Super Petrel though, there is one based at Jacobs Well (Rohan) as well as Peter's (HEON) demonstrator at Warwick. Incidentally I've been in and out at Murwillumbah a couple of times, by road and air and never seen much activity. Is there a time that's better than any other to drop in and say hello?
Guest AMPHIBONE Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I'm often there weekday mornings, if I'm doing maintenance or general jobs, but not so much weekends unless there's an aeroclub do on. Murbah is a funny place with lots of activity some days & nothing on other days, even though it might be a great flying day. I live at Kirra, so it's a halfhour drive to get there.
Spin Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Fair enough, I'll have to drop in a bit more regularly - it really is an attractive set up. I'm a bit further north at Bonogin so call it 40 mins, much the same as to Heck Field - or Tyagarah for that matter.
Guest studentbiggles Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Welcome aboard Mr Jansen :) Good to see you here.............have some news to tell you, but your going to have to wait till "Tinty" !!!! Say "Hi" to Barb.....there's a few guys on here that you have done work for that would love to catch up with you. As always Fly and Keep Safe........................Alley
fly_tornado Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 yu need to put an order in for this new seagull, looks like a tornado!
jakej Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Hi Alley, & all Have joined up recently & see sme friends here already - that's great. Like amphibone I also have a Glasair but first I had built & flown a CGS Hawk (a single seater) in the early 80's - that was scary with the only lesson beforehand was a briefing then had to fly it. A few years ago I got an RA Licence in a Sportstar, much easier then after having flown many hours in an experimental aircraft. I hope to catch up with some of you, at flyins etc, in the future. Cheers, Jake J
