johnm Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Here is an interesting snapshot of employee and employer - I reckon most will see both sides of the fence - Fieldair ag site I can see the employers point of view - expensive machinery and twisted aluminium The pilot has now been cloned with appropriate DNA and should be useful in 18 years (think thats CPL age) JM Agricultural Pilots, Cropdusters Pty LtdAll types of Ag applications, various locations throughout Australia as required Exp: Experienced Ag Pilots that can actually fly, not just have a piece of paper that says they can - Tail dragger experience essential, recent application experience preferred Apply To: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Seeking pilots with Ag experience. NO egos. NO Cowboys, NO throttle bashers, NO know it alls, NO Nutcases, NO Freeloaders, NO nasty types, NO whingers, NO slackers, NO liars, NO hidden agendas. NO opportunists. Must be team players, of sober habits, honest in all respects, professional in all regards, able to give, take and carry out instructions, be accountable, reliable and responsible, able to keep good records, able to clearly communicate on various levels. Must understand this is not a get rich industry, demand can be unpredictable, so flexibility is necessary. Deskpilot Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Love it. If only one could get away with it. Aren't there laws about discrimination ;-))
Guest eland2705 Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Wonder how many replies he gets. I would work for him (not that I have the tickets/endos etc), but he sounds like a real Boss, you'd know where you stood.
fly_tornado Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 He sounds like if you make a wrong step, he has a label to stick on you. deserved or other wise.
ben87r Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 HA that's awesome, Wish i could take out the AG Pilot bit and put in plumber, carpenter, roofer ect and put it in the local paper
Student Pilot Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 I wouldn't apply for that job. Most in the AG game are good to work for and don't need to state all that stuff. I have worked for a few operators over the years and you soon tell the good from the bad. It's not a game you can just step off the street and bluff your way through, you have to know what you are doing. I have found in one case "Must be a team player" meant not filling out the maintanence release for six months because ole mate didn't want hours on his engine. In any game there are good and bad, AG is no different to most. There are dipstck pilots but they are soon weeded out, nobody is going to trust a clown in an aircraft that can cost between $400,000 to 2 million. That sort of add would make me hesitant to apply.
Student Pilot Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 I forgot to say I have seen this game from both sides of the fence, as an employee and an employer.
winsor68 Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 I found this add on the same site as the former... Personally I would go for the employer who still has a sense of humor... Loader/ Mixer, Southern Aerial Agriculture Naracoorte, SA Exp: MR Truck lic Apply To: XXXXX Loading a mix of piston and turbine aircraft. Must like beer. Seasonal only.
