long tall texan Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Just wondering where everyone gets their tyres from. I'm looking for 15'x6.00-6 tyres but getting nowhere. Any help appreciated.
Guest basscheffers Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Local lawnmower shop in my case! Not even sure what the size is, I have been get them bought for me by the L2.
Acky Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 I believe most tyre shops are reluctant to sell you tires for an aircraft. But i believe they sell ribbed tyres for ride on mowers!
Guernsey Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Try Bridgestone tyres, I have 6 ply and when I mentioned they were for and ultralight aircraft there was a lot of noise from the workshop so he said that he couldn't hear me properly. Alan.
farri Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 I got my last 2 ribbed 15x6.00-6 for the Drifter from *Easylift Group Pty Ltd*! I don`t know if they have stores all over the country! Frank.
Stewy Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Give me a call happy to supply anyone with their needs. Freight may be a problem to some places but if I can help happy to do so Supply locals with 10plys etc for the jabirus etc so the rest can't be too much of an issue Regards Stewy
airangel Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Try Trelliborg Brand, I have found to be a very good tyre. The only tyre I have seen that is not branded, "not for highway use" > Available in SA from a company called Solid Service. And I guess interstate from companies part of the Trelliborg group which may have different names.
Dieselten Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 I have sourced 13.5X6 Deestone tyres from my local Bob Jane tyre shop, twenty at a time and with a dozen new tubes for about half what I would pay for twenty Trelleborgs, leave alone the additional tubes. The Deestone are slightly softer, but they last about 3/4 as long as the Trelleborgs, so we are coming out slightly ahead, in spite of changing tyres slightly more frequently.
