Owi Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 This may be a little old but I was forwarded this fascinating link about the current generation Zeppelin in the USA. Looks like a great way to spend a couple of hours. http://home.comcast.net/%7Ebzee1b/Zeppelin/Zeppelin.html Enjoy.
farri Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 With modern technology,I believe the Zeppelins time has returned! It could be the equivalent of the ocean liner........A way to travel and view the world in leisurely comfort. How`s about flying a Zeppelin???......Not for me! I want something I can fly,not an office! Frank.
Thalass Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 It is possible to gain an airship endorsement (CAO 40.8.3) but of course it is an extension of the PPL. It'd be nice if there was an RA version - with a mass (not weight haha) limit, blimp not rigid, etc. I'd love an airship caravan - i'm sure i could do better than Top Gear! Something you tow to the airfield like a caravan, inflate the envelope and off you go! Though it'd be nice if you could have two engines (or at least two props) - the main problem with the top gear airship was that the prop was right behind the square stern, i think.
Gnarly Gnu Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Lovely photos, I believe it's rare for SF to have such clear skies. Looks like a lot of fun.
