pudestcon Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 Congrats Pud! Hope you enjoyed yourself and glad that all the extremely hard work paid off :)-Andrew Thanks Andrew, How did the Bindoon event go yesterday. A couple of guys from Northam went over in a Jab and said there was a really good turn up. Pud
Riley Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Hell Pud, had we know you were really gonna put the beast in the air this weekend, Bindoon probably could have arranged with Whitehall to re-write history and delay the Battle of Britian Day commemorative fly over until a date that was convenient for you to lead the parade in the Thruster. Kidding aside, heartiest congrats on finally strapping it to your bum and levitating. Witgh a bit of luck, Pommie John & I will get over to Northam to see you/it before you relocate to the farm strip. cheers Riley
sfGnome Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Won't take long for that 1.6 hours to become 16 hours and then 160 hours...

Guernsey Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Hi Pud, Don't forget to drop into Adelaide on your way to Natfly next year in the Thruster. Alan.
pudestcon Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 Hi Pud,Don't forget to drop into Adelaide on your way to Natfly next year in the Thruster. Alan. Hahahaha. Now that would be an expedition although do-able, just need the time and desire....... Pud
Riley Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Hahahaha. Now that would be an expedition although do-able, just need the time and desire.......Pud Pud, at your age I'd go easy on that 'desire' front (or at least conserve it for equally important occasions on the home front)! 1
pudestcon Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 Pud buddy,Well done, this has been an epic journey and you still beat me getting in the air. So happy for you mate. David Thanks David, I'm sure I don't have to tell you it's all worth it in the end. When will it happen for you mate? Pud
pudestcon Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 Pud, at your age I'd go easy on that 'desire' front (or at least conserve it for equally important occasions on the home front)! Hehehe, speaking from experience Riley?
FlyingVizsla Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Pud, This is to settle a marital dispute.... how is Pud pronounced; as in Puddle, or Pudding? Sue (pronounced Soooo)
pudestcon Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 Well I could put it out there on a Poll but that's a bit frivolous!!! I was given the nickname when I was 8 years old because I was a "big fat pudding". Does that give you a hint? Pud as in good or indeed pudding. Pood

Alan Marriette. 2

Sue - Suu - Seyou - Soo - Whatever...
The Baron Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 YESSS!!!:thumb_up::thumb_up::thumb_up:I knew it was a good omen when I read all your good wishes this morning. I now have 1.6 hours in MY airplane, and don't it feel good:rilla::rilla::rilla: She flys very well with no unpleasant characteristics. It took me a little while to get back into the groove, seeing as how it was June last year the last time I flew a Thruster. Went with the instructor for a few circuits until he was satisfied I still 'had it'. I need a few more hours of circuit bashing to get real confident but I'm up for it:laugh: I've got a couple of video clips I need to edit and I'll post the end result here if somebody tells me how to go about doing it. One very happy puppy:thumb up: Pud PS The bloody gate takings were miserable!! A couple of old geezers snuck in the back way without paying and that was it!! Good onya Pud, Thrusters Rule!
pudestcon Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 Pudding! Darn! Much grovelling now required. I often say I married my father, my mother said he was always right too. Sue - Suu - Seyou - Soo - Whatever... s'all right Sew, you'll get over it. Hehehe Pould
eightyknots Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 One of the most important mods I want to fit is a secondary means of elevator control (a good trim tab) which is usable from the cockpit in the event of an elevator cable failure. Call me paranoid, but an elevator failure could be terminal. You can never be "too safe", David. It's all about managing (minimising) risk factors. When do you think you'll get airborne in her (it?)?
