Sloper Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Goodaye all What is the thoughts of bonding trailing edes instead of riverting? l have been using sikaflex for sealing and bonding before riverting, soon l will be doing the tail and was thinking of bonding the rudder and elevator trailing edges. Is there a better product or method? The Couger uses pop rivets on the edges, l am looking for a neater finish. regards Bruce
old man emu Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 If my memory serves me, the pop rivets used for this job on Morgan airplanes have what is called a Universal Head. This head is dome shaped and stands proud of the surface. If you want to get a neater finish, you could use countersunk head rivets such as the CherryMax CR3212 series. OME
Sloper Posted April 19, 2011 Author Posted April 19, 2011 Its the other side on the edge, l would have arivet head on one side and the horibble pulled bit on the other. just trying to neaten that up. regards Bruce

Maybe doesnt help you with your A/c but just a thought.
