One dead in Balranald crash

Anyone hear anymore about this one? The article seems a little confused as it only mentions a single seater.

From what I've heard, it's one of a group of 2 seater trikes taking part in a 7 to 10 day trip from NSW to SA.

 

I'm getting this 2nd hand, so don't feel in a position to tell the rest as it's speculation at this point and no doubt under Police investigation and other Forum members are on the same trip (I think) and will be in a better position to know what information is appropriate for release and when.

It was reported on ABC radio that the deceased was a 68 yr old male from Tasmania .. Of course the media story should not be taken as gospel in light of recent misreports ... If this is the case though , my condolences go out to his bereaved family ..

Speculation is that the pilot either had a heart attack or stroke whilst in the air as radio went silent.

This is terrible. I spoke to airborne and all they were able to say is that the conditions for the flight were good. My sincere condolences go out to the family.

Just mallee scrub. Not overly thick I believe

 

Trike clipped first tree and whacked second one and burnt

 

There were apparently areas to land around but didnt make it hence speculation of heart attack etc.

 

Engine appearers to have been running according to crash investigator

The group he was flying with were all in regular contact on a chat chanel, however there was nothing from him, furthers the speculation...
