Semps Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Hi, I've had 3 hours training a couple of years ago but unfortunately due to getting married, buying at house etc I haven't had the funds to continue on. I was really thinking about getting back into it and now I see that Peace Aviation in Rockhampton now train students towards your Recreational Aircraft certificate. Please excuse my lack of knoledge but I was under the impression that Recreational Aviation pilots couldn't fly in controlled airspace. Has something changed in the last couple of years? Thanks
facthunter Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Some schools get specific exemptions at certain locations. I think Hobart (Cambridge) was the first
Guest davidh10 Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 In addition, the CAOs now enable a recreational pilot who is also a current* PPL holder to fly a recreational aircraft that is suitably equipped (refer the CAO 95-nn appropriate to your aircraft and RAA Ops 2-01) in CTA. *Current means having CTA privileges, current review and a current medical.
dazza 38 Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I beleive Parafield has a similar set up, by that I mean a exemption.
