flying dog Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Quick question/s: Why "aviation LAUGHTER"? Why did the chute deploy? Couldn't they land it?
eightyknots Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Just as well that he did not land a bit further, on the hill behind the landing point and in the trees!
Owi Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Surely it didn't require a mannequin to test the flight? Unless they thought it would blow up mid-air. The landing looked soft enough to me.
Guest ozzie Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 this is all part of the higher altitude testing that they are now doing. Notice the dummy for the pilot and it is controlled via a RC controller. Now they know the BRS deploys OK they should be starting the manned tests soon. Good to see it has a bit more stability now. Hope they are going to Airventure again. Had a great time with them at the International visitors BBQ in '08. Free beer really gets them talking about it.
fly_tornado Posted June 2, 2011 Author Posted June 2, 2011 Quick question/s:Why "aviation LAUGHTER"? Why did the chute deploy? Couldn't they land it? the pilot chickened out < its funny
Guest ozzie Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I asked (pestered) Glenn Martin about doing some test flying for him at 08 Airventure and he said buy one and go for your life. Electric version would be really interesting.
eightyknots Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 "and go for your life" I hope these are not ominous words
