Guest SAJabiruflyer Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Hi All A 2nd hand dealer gave me a Light Aircraft Engine Log Book. It's regarding a 912UL fitted to a SeaRay, VH-REY. A quick search of the aircraft register shows the current owner, but hey contact them means I'd have to post a letter.. and i'm lazy. Although interesting to read, it's no good to me. If anyone on here wants it, or knows the owner and they might want it, let me know, happy to post it somewhere. Cheers SAJabiruflyer
old man emu Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Brett, That's a public record document and would be essential if the owner of the aircraft wanted to sell the plane. It would be the right thing to do to try to contact the owner to return it. The aircraft was only built in 1996. I suspect that the logbook might have been the proceeds of a burglary if it has wound up with a 2nd hand dealer. OME
Guest SAJabiruflyer Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Excellent thanks for that Old Man Emu, I will now do some Googling!
Guest SAJabiruflyer Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Following up, Googled the owner then called him. Turns out the engine is no longer in service and he as a new 912 to install, so he doesnt need the LogBook. But then we got chatting, turns out he has been flying for a long time, with his own SeaPlane tourist business in the past until a medical forced him onto RAAus. I find it amazing how two strangers can chat for a long time once the common interest of Aircraft is raised! Now i'm meant to be taking a friend's international student for a fly, but it's raining and windy.
