Gnarly Gnu Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Similarly I have a 40' container with lots of empty space available leaving the west coast later this month (July). Starting at Alaska then calling by California before heading here. I'm assuming that is too soon to work for you FP? Anyone else interested can PM me. 1

Hongie Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 sorry to hijack the thread... Gnarly, whats a 40' worth?
Gnarly Gnu Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Actually I'm still sorting that part out at this point! The Alaska leg is a significant part of the cost for me, from CA onwards is fairly straightforward. Apparently there is not a huge cost difference between a 20' and a 40'.
fly_tornado Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 The port charges in Australia almost double when you go from a 20' to a 40'
Gnarly Gnu Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 To answer Hongie better a 40' container from the USA west coast currently costs around US$4000 - depending on the port etc in the $3,600 to $4,300 range. I have to pay quite a bit more from Alaska.
Floatplane Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 I'm bringing in a 40' container with a Husky & amphibs from central USA if that helps? Rgs FP
