One of the many advantages of a forum like this one, is that you get to know some interesting people with like interests. If your lucky you'll actually get to met some forumites in person, and form mutual friendships.

 

My family and I have just spent a brilliant weekend attending the V8 Supercar races in Townsville.

 

Mr H made it all possible via his connections as Television media director with the company he works with, covering all the V8 Supercar races throughout the country. Thank you again Mr H !!! :DJ:

 

Daughter Kelly and I looked up Howard Sunday between races, and were treated to a facinating 'behind the scenes' look at how sport coverage is created, and transmitted via satilite throughtout the world in real time. Some 200 people are involved directly in covering a large race meet like the v8 Supercars.

 

Many people in two large trailers take vision recieved live from many cameras situated around the track, in the race cars themselves, and in an overhead chopper, and produce the exciting race footage you get to see on your weekend race program.

 

It might be second nature to you Howard, but to us it was all an impressive show ....We hope your stay in Townsville was enjoyable !............................................................Maj and family
