Spin Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 http://www.gattonstar.com.au/story/2011/07/20/spitfires-amazing-aussie-leukaemia-foundation/ Came across this one whilst trying to find out more about the Dirranbandi accident - fantastic see people making use of their aircraft in this way. I am right in understanding that this is an entirely separate project from the Wings of Life flight, aren't I?
Spin Posted July 20, 2011 Author Posted July 20, 2011 Yeah they did Donald, I suspect they aren't doing it all in one go, but rather in a few stages with breaks in between. What an experience though - one day!!!
Guest ozzie Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Hell it's Brian Scoffell, he is the only pilot i know of that has had a bird strike, whilst the poor birdie was minding it's own business sitting in the tree.
Ballpoint 246niner Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Scoff is a long time skydiving acquaintence from years gone by- a good guy who's lived a few"lives"- his son Stewart is a lovely young man- I wish them the best and safe skies for their worthy adventure. He was just "reamed out" by the Ipswich council from his long term DZ at Willowbank. He epitomises the cat with nine lives after that horrible accident there a few years ago.

There was another one at Butterworth by Mc C***** in a Mirage. Guess thats how you get to be Director of Aviation Safety at CASA.
Ballpoint 246niner Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 You ever jump at Aratula DZ with him? Yep, a couple of loads, with the McMahon's, Feen and a few others- my main DZ was Toogoolawah.
