farri Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 For the record, I hope you got rather sunburnt Naahhh, Jake!............ Drifter fliers are tough!... This was today!... Who`s coming tomorrow?
Tomo Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Hey Frank, what's your co-ords? I'll look it up on the map and see how far away you are... might have to make a trip up there sometime!
Bryon Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I may be moving to Townsville next year on the very off chance I get accepted into medicine there so I might be able to do a bit of flying up there! Looks like a nice place to do it!!! Jake, do not go there You might catch Farri's disease which is a love of flying combined with good flying weather Hang on, that doesnt sound fatal. In fact it sounds damn good Maybe I can get a transfer from my employer 1
farri Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Tomo! Using Google Earth, the shed where I keep the Drifter is 17.13.o7.86 S 145.56.06.19 E...... The main strip is 600 mts long and runs from the shed, at, 75...255....The house is at 17.13.00.48 145.56.06.17 I have another strip that runs in the same direction, but comes to the back of the house!... If you look on the left side of the shed, you`ll see another that comes up to the house!...You`re welcome anytime!!! Jake! Flying is like fishing, the weather is always perfect when you can`t go! I don`t mind a fair bit of wind and I`m on the spot and mostly able to go when I want,so I get to fly a lot!!!......... .......... Unfortunately, not everyone has my situation!!! Frank. Ps, I hope you all get to fly, sooner than later!!!!
Guest Howard Hughes Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Jake! Flying is like fishing, the weather is always perfect when you can`t go! And when you're not flying (or fishing) you get to tell stories of when you were... "There we were upside down with nothing on the altimeter but the makers name".
farri Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Jake, do not go there,You might catch Farri's disease which is a love of flying combined with good flying weather Bryon, You`ve got it!.... I`ve still got the bug and it looks like I`m not going to loose it any time soon! When it bites! I just gotta go!!! Hey! Don`t get me wrong! I`m not complaining!... On a serious note!... It never ceases to amaze me that I can walk 200 metres, jump in the Drifter and in 5 minutes, I`m looking down on the world and care free and every time I get back on the ground, I thank my wonderfull little machine that allows me to do it and think how fortunate I am to be able to do it!....... Wouldn`t swap it for quids!!!.......... ........... Frank. " Flying is easy, Crashing is hard".
.Evan. Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Good to hear, J! You're having much better luck with the Wx than me!
