Thirsty Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Why couldn't they have landed yesterday?? 20 July 1969 - first man on the moon - 20 July - Last shuttle landing. Would have made it easier to remember :)
octave Posted July 21, 2011 Author Posted July 21, 2011 yep very cool, wont get to see that again, end of an era!
Thirsty Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Yep they must have been aiming for that I reckon. Pretty cool though. I lived in teh states in the mid 70's and remember seeing the gliding tests of the "dummy" shuttle. I've now seen the entire program from beginning to end - amazing! 1
turboplanner Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Thirsty, having read the book Dark Mission by Richard C. Hoagland, I suspect there would be a reason for that, just as there has been a history of very interesting timings throughout many previous missions. Fascinating reading.
