Kyle Communications Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 he isn't far from you dec I see on the map...maybe you should go up and give him a escort :)
Kyle Communications Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 He certainly has some big testicles...I have been following his progress and reading the blogs...would be nice if he could have kept the regular updates but we all know how fickle bloody computers can be sometimes. He is a amazing chap and must have a personal drive that not a lot of other have thats for sure. Its an epic trip Mark
damoski Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Given that he's overflown every large body of water he can find, I'm not sure avoiding tiger country is on his agenda :-) I was going to drop by Bankstown this arvo, but guess he won't be there for then. Shame. I spoke to Airport Information, and they couldn't really think of where he might taxi to, other than suggesting I go to the 'terminal' at Airport Drive?
Ronin Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 Yep looks like weather has him at Dubbo for a short while, poor bloke this last couple legs is gonna seem like forever, will be at his final leg some sort of camera going so hopefully will get something to pop on here when he gets to that Newcastle final.. Eric
damoski Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I'm in SYD due to fly away for a couple of days, so will have to settle for the photos, I guess!
Kyle Communications Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Dave's blog is back up to Nyngun....he has been hammered the poor fellow Mark
Ronin Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 Looks like he's off and running again this morning left Dubbo 7.24am, have to see what weather brings....Eric
Kyle Communications Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 WX must be bad looks like he is returning to Dubbo
winsor68 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Dave's blog is back up to Nyngun....he has been hammered the poor fellowMark It truly is amazing... I have been reading his blog... The guts and determination this guy has is incredible!!!
Ronin Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 He's off again, heading out of Dubbo, lets keep the fingers crossed that he gets further this time around.....
Kyle Communications Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 that looks pretty high and rough on his track
winsor68 Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Reading his blog... it almost sounds like he flew most of the way from England at less than 1000 feet... at times down to 500 feet and pushing on.... He says he is scared of heights!! This guy has cannon balls.
Kyle Communications Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Dex go up and give him a quick escort and take some pics for us Mark
Kyle Communications Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Dex either that or get on the radio and tell him to land at your place...looks like he is going almost over the top of you...just watch out for the power lines :)
Kyle Communications Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 At least he is away from all that tiger country now...going just south of Dex's place
Ronin Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 I think there is a lag of about 4 to 5 minutes so by the time a spot comes up he's 5mins further down the track....
Kyle Communications Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I think he is going for wallsend today not sommersby...by the look of his track...getting bugger all work done today watching him :)
Kyle Communications Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 If I ws in an hour or so drive from where he lands I would hot foot it down there and say hello and congratulate him for sure...I am impressed at his will and strength of character...I doubt if I could do it and I am able bodied Mark
Ronin Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 I have been watching same as you guys, i wonder if he know as you say how many people are watching over him, I fly out of Maitland and if i get an idea that's where he is heading i am in a car with a camera, and only 10mins away from Wallsend so on my way there as well.....Eric
FlyingVizsla Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 After reading his blog about Charleville I felt sorry I hadn't whistled up my flying mates, BOM friends, and friends of the RFDS who would have seen to his ailments without hesitation and gotten him accommodation, transport, fuel and hangar and full weather. Darn.... Look forward to some Forumite pics Not getting much work done here, either. Sue
