Guest davidh10 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Welcome to the forums, Widday18. An interesting aircraft, (MiniCoupe) Can't believe the price on Wikipedia... surely they have a couple of trailing zeroes missing? What engine do you plan to use?
wlday18 Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Welcome to the forums, Widday18.An interesting aircraft, (MiniCoupe) Can't believe the price on Wikipedia... surely they have a couple of trailing zeroes missing? What engine do you plan to use? Cost is a bit more in 2011 USDs. Still not bad for a scratch bulit. I have a 1915cc VW I plan on using. If not happy with that, then I have a Corvair engine I can build for it. Haven't updated the site in a while, focused more on completion. http://wday6511.home.comcast.net/~wday6511/
planedriver Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Welcome wlday18. Good to see you sticking with it over the years, and it looks like its taking shape nicely. Look forward to seeing pictures of the finished job and the smile on your face. Kind Regards Planey
Guest davidh10 Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Build is looking good. From the pictures it appears that the instrument panel will be permanently fixed in place and there will be no maintenance access up behind it. Had you thought about how you remove / replace any instruments that require service or what happens if you develop a "loose connection"? In my trike, I've had to remove the main instrument and disassemble it to replace the cold cathode lamp that provides the LCD with back lighting. (Unfortunately with no improvement, as it still goes dark when the temperature drops below about 5-6 degrees Centigrade)
Suitman Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Welcome, wlday18 I am impressed by the build project. How long has this been going? Peter
