Wayne T Mathews Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 ........If I were looking for a big risk worth managing, I would start with engines that stop turning in flight either from fuel management or mechanical/electrical issues. If we HF proof fuel systems and bullet proof engines, an awful lot of risks, particularly fatal ones just go away. Once again logic says I must agree with you Don. But in all my years, I've yet to see a man made system that men can't stuff up. Therefore, I also have to agree with CFI. We're not going to be able to remove the human factor in the operation of our fuel systems, or our power plants for that matter. Having said that, we can, and must, reduce the risk of mismanagement by continueing to emphasise the importance of correct fuel and engine management, and strive to improve the competencey of our people in these critical areas. Keep the sunny side up, Wayne.
Guest ozzie Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Only a career lawyer from CASA would try to convince an engine to be HF proof.
