Tomo Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 IanR from this forum took me for a flight in formation. Was great fun!
facthunter Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Ian R, a man of action, but not a quiet achiever. He laughs a lot.. You have a good life Tomo.... Nev 1
old man emu Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 What a terrible shame that the weather changed overnight. It would have been a glorious flight if the weather had been like it was on Friday morning. OME
Guest davidh10 Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Nice video Tomo. Good close echelon formation.
Tomo Posted September 25, 2011 Author Posted September 25, 2011 Actually we had a bigger motor in the 172 we were in. Which made it a little more interesting.
facthunter Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 The last time I was involved there were chipmunks a 172 and a Beech A-36. There's no harm in running with the flaps out on the faster planes, especially when there is plenty of power available. You need it when you are on the outside of a turn. It can be hard work. ( I'm not a great fan of formation flying, you might have noticed). I had a Comper Swift do a barrel roll around me when I was on my first solo cross country. Haven't been the same since. Ha Ha.. Nev
IanR Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 ( I'm not a great fan of formation flying, you might have noticed). Never would have guessed Nev !!
IanR Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Actually we had a bigger motor in the 172 we were in. Which made it a little more interesting. Makes it much easier having the more powerful engine when you are the following aircraft - specially on the outside of turns with multiple aircraft. Got to watch it when leading though.
Guest Maj Millard Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Cool, formation take-off and all................................................................Maj...
