Sounds like a lot of fun! I think I will have to wait until I'm finished Uni and in a proper job before branching out into choppers. (The fact that I can have over 3 and a half hours in the Foxbat for 1 hour in a heli is slightly discouraging 037_yikes.gif.f44636559f7f2c4c52637b7ff2322907.gif)

While I was doing a pre-flight and such before my flying lesson the other day I saw someone here doing pretty much the same thing as you, they took of from the hangar, flew over to a big open space of the airport and there they stayed, at about 2 or 5ft for the next half hour.

Might have to start saving up for a TIF I think, you have me convinced:cheezy grin:

As I stated in another thread - I limit my activities to aerobatics so that I stay out of trouble. Never flown at night since I got my rating. Never fly in an aircraft where the wings are going faster than the fuselage. If I want to go somewhere I'll buy an airline ticket (must try Virgin one day).

Still, aerobatics is not for everyone - have fun Jen.

On the other hand, standing on a three legged chair, playing the ABC on a ghetto blaster sounds much the same, and wouldn't cost anything Darky

Gwhen you're holding the cyclic, think of it as being something really disgusting and gross that you don't want to squeeze through your fingers, hold it lightly and just use gentle movements.

I was trying to hold it lightly, my FI kept telling me to relax and he could see my knuckles turning white (it didn't feel like I was holding it that tightly!)

I reckon you might have this nailed in the minimum amount of hours, but the adventure has only just begun!

I hope so! But there's a lot to do between now and hour 38 so I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Hovering???.....doesn't sound like a moving experience to me

Sorry DJ, I'm not sure aeros was for me. Perhaps in the future I'll have another crack at it. I'll definitely be back in the Decathlon with you sometime in the next few months to get my tailwheel rating though!
