Spin Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Gawd, just when you thought you knew your way around the maze, it all gets mixed up again. Looked and looked for Off topic discussions - gooorrrrn. Instead we have a plethora of unpopulated little subsections lurking in the undergrowth. Just to add to my woes, I notice last night that I'm about to hit the century in likes (now where's the "merchant banker" smilie, been waiting for the right occasion - oh yes, that's gooorrrrn too). Imagine my intense distress to find that I'm becoming unlikeable, they're counting backwards now, early this morning it was down to 98, now it's 89 - life just ain't worth living! 7

Tomo Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 I have no idea if I've dropped or not... I try not to take much notice of all those statistics, as it scares me 2
Guest davidh10 Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Probably the result of Ian's notified deletion of posts characterised as chatter, rather than valuable content. I think my likes have undergone a "revaluation" as well
facthunter Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Glad it wasn't just me. My total number dropped by about 180. I thought maybe the ones many years back might drop off. If the one or two word ones were dropped off that would be reasonable. They should reflect the effort if they are to mean anything. Regarding the likes.... It is the article (subject) or perhaps the way it treated, that is liked, not the writer, so much I would imagine. It is nice to see WHO appreciates the article sometimes, more than the number who do. Nev 1
kgwilson Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 This is probably part of Ians new segmented forums upgrade where he is shifting stuff around. See http://www.recreationalflying.com/forums/announcements-and-site-news.13/ They may well turn up again in the next few days when it is complete. 1

The smilies that have gone AWOL is going to be an issue though... 3

Admin Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Guys, when I have completed updating everything I will do what I can to get your likes back...if you can remember what you had...there is a lot of transformation going on so things are a bit out of whack at the moment 1

Technology is responsible for my grey hairs! Best of luck in the continued transformation :)
Guest SAJabiruflyer Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 ...i didnt have any 'greys' until i took up instructing.......but it may only be a coincidence! Probably not. My Ab Initio instructor said, after I got my certificate... "Despite your best attempts we survived". I daresay your greys might just have a little bit to do with the known unknowns of teaching unknowns unknown skills that were previously unknown to them and knowing that it's unknown if they will know what to do considering their known unknowns.

Admin Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Thanks Kaz...I may end up sitting here liking everyone to get their likes back up...or then again I could just go into the database and manually up their likes for them...that's an idea $1 per like

Admin Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 not particularily worried about mine...the likes/posts are changing like the qnh...and no longer mean anything. But CFI...you are the Ying Yang specialist 1
Tex Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 that's an idea $1 per like Far too expensive... its like the GFC at the moment... cost me another $19 last night.
Admin Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Remember, when I delete all the political threads etc, post counts and likes will drop, and this may also impact Trophies but we will get to a point that is stable again to grow from
