Hi there I will be over your end of the World from the 8th of November for 3 weeks holiday and was wondering how many local flying sites are in the area.I will be arriving using a bigger plane than Dave Sykes with stewardesses etc. LOL ,but it would be nice to visit some local pilots whilst I am there.

Cheers

By far the best is Aldinga, south of the city. Then there's Strathalbyn(trikes) but very quiet. Murray Bridge and Goolwa.

North of the city there's Parafield and Gawler. You'll need a car to visit any of them.

Hi William, where exactly will you be staying in Adelaide....we may have a nearby forumite who would like to take you around or to their local airfield.

I will be staying with my Brother in Lockleys. I know he has booked a week on a houseboat up the Murray river but dont know the dates.I was just looking to visit a couple of local fields and meet up with some like minded folks whilst I was there.

Thanks for the replies

William,

Strathalbyn would be the best place in Adelaide to see/fly trikes. But you would need to be there on a weekend with good weather, early morning to see it in full swing...otherwise it may be empty.

The town also has a lot of Scottish heritage.

Head on down to Goolwa on a Saturday or Sunday. Pretty nice place, beautiful scenery of the Fleurieu Peninsular from the air, chance of seeing some whales. Great coffee in the flight office, and a good chance of getting a plane ride. You might even get to see one of the Marchetti Jets heading out for some playtime. bounce.gif.3516b5f7197d1d6889168640af67e2f6.gif

Hi Damien the Scottish Strathalbyn is only 80 miles away from me. I would love to see come down and meet up with you guy's while I am over there.

Jabflyer I have visited victor harbour before but must admit it was by road, we took the tram/train accross and walked back a beautiful walk and a lovely area.

If I was 10 years younger I would be applying to stay when I came over as the uk is sinking fast.

I would have to plan the flight over a bit better than Dave though as 5 months is a bit long.

cheers

Hi William,

Strathalbyn was busy this morning, however, weather tomorrow doesn't look very good so probably won't be very active.

Goolwa or Aldinga may have some activity (but no trikes).

Cheers,

Damo
