JackM Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 I have my Rec License with Tailwheel, Nosewheel, Cross country and passenger endorsements. I will be starting my GA training and I am wondering what are the best theory books around for PPL? Cheers :)
Tomo Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Yeah, I pretty much used Bob Tait also, and Jim Davis' PPL book is a handy resource to have I reckon. What aircraft will you be using?
Mazda Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 I used the ATC ones and found them to be pretty good for the basics.

JackM Posted October 18, 2011 Author Posted October 18, 2011 Thanks everyone, and Tomo I will be flying a 172s
Tomo Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 You will find it rather easy to fly because you've mastered that Sportcub! Set the trim and have a coffee...
JackM Posted October 19, 2011 Author Posted October 19, 2011 Yeah thats it, Have you got your Tailwheel Tomo?
Tomo Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Yes I learnt on a tail wheel aircraft, so that helps the situation a bit! Got my GA tailwheel also.
JackM Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 Yeah that for sure. What plane did you learn on?
JackM Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 Awesome, nice open cockpit flying is great!
