I did a GA to RAA conversion last year on a Skyfox. This aircraft has currently flown an amazing 11100 hours!

Can anybody beat that?

11,100 is a baby for GA but a veteran for RA-Aus.

I flew in a Tomahawk with 17,000 hours and it was a baby.

I'd be interested to hear of some more high time aircraft examples.

Hi Airham,

Are you sure the Skyfox you are speaking of has done that many hours because if it had it surley would have to have had the wings replaced and the tail section replaced to be one not only reliable but also safe and legal.

Yes it has flown 11,100 hours which I thought for an Ultralight, used mainly for training, was pretty good going.

Sure. there has been ongoing maintenace, engine rebuilds etc. As far as I know the wings have not had to have been re-built but just stripped down and examined at the 4000/8000 hr mark. I know this is due to be carried out again shortly. The aircraft has always been hangared.

The aircraft I originally learned to fly on was a Piper J3C Cub of 1942 vintage.

It's still flying but I don't know how many hours it has got on the clock.

I suppose the original Qantas 707 has a few!

I guess a more apt title for the thread would be aircraft longevity.
