Justin Hawkins Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Hi all, I've been posting in the drifter ultralight forum and in the new pilots forum and someone asked for a few pics of where I fly. Since I'm big into Aerial Photography, I thought I'd start up a dicussion here and show off a few pics. Feel free to post your own examples. I'll try to post one or two new pics every day. FWIW, I use a Nikon D7000 with a cheap kit lens (for now). 3
farri Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 My local flying area is Deeral and the Atherton Tablelands in Queensland Australia. The cleared property at the bend in the river is our property and where I fly from. Second photo: Russell Heads, looking NW towards the Pyramid. Third photo: Normanby Island, out from Russell Heads. Guest davidh10 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 As some of you probably already know, I have been taking still shots from my aircraft for over a year now. While all my public photos and calendars are viewable using the Redbubble link in my signature, here's a link that picks only the photos tagged as:- Aerial Aviation More recently, I've been taking some video and posting some clips on YouTube (again via the link in my signature). Justin; I cannot help but notice the clarity of your photos. Very nice indeed. What is your secret to removing the haze that invariably affects aerial photos to some degree? I use DXO Optics Pro to post-process mine and have developed some settings that minimise the effect of haze, but it is subject to introducing some other impairments under certain lighting and scene situations.
farri Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Greg, that`s excellent. When I was working on a prawn trawler called, " Judy B ", We went up the Norman river, from Kuramba to Normanton, to unload a catch of prawns. It`s just amazing how many bends there are in the Norman river! Frank.
