Guest rocketdriver Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Mine is a photo of a Tiger Moth that to me brings together the romance of old biplanes, some of the beauty I think we all find in flying and a reminder of how bl..dy cold it can be flying an open cockpit in the UK anytime between November and March! I don't know where I found the photo, but it is part of my screensaver gallery and I call it "Winter Tiger". ... oh, and I loved flying a beautifully renovated Tiger (thanks to Bruce) and one in original condition, (thanks Doug), all about 15 years ago now .....
eastmeg2 Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Obviously, my Trike and I. But the location is not my usual airstrip anymore but where I learned to fly trikes years before the photo was taken.
pudestcon Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I've edited my above post so as not to draw attention from the thread... but there you go, changed the picture to a recent one, just a fortnight ago in-fact. Your turn Pud... NUP!! I ain't playing Tomo:augie: Scared too many people last time I had my 'moosh' in my avatar. Here's Gaygirl at her new home on Wirraway Farm North Gabbin Pud 3
farri Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 :plane:Mine signifies that I`m an ultralight enthusiast and the fact that I was once told I was flying a broomstick with a garden chair on it. Frank.
kaz3g Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Mine is a photo of my beloved Auster with me giving it a reassuring pat... fortunately, my bit of the image is so small it doesn't give much away! kaz :wheelchair The Auster and I were both built in the same year (1944)
eightyknots Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Hi Powerin I agree with Maj it looks more dramatic with the background.Have you tried showing it as the original in your avatar ? Alan. I second that: please put the background in your avatar for better effect.
Guernsey Posted December 15, 2011 Author Posted December 15, 2011 NUP!! Guernsey Posted December 15, 2011 Author Posted December 15, 2011 Isn't it enlightening to see the reasons behind some of your Avatars. There's a few more regulars with unusual Avatars who haven't contributed yet....come on guys I'm dying to know. Alan.
Guest Howard Hughes Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 New avatar taken at YWOL on Tuesday, similar to the old one!
icebob Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 mine is me after my last flight on retirment.
sfGnome Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 My little gnome has followed me through a few forums of interest. I think of him as 'flying' through the woods on this forum, and merely running through them on coolrunning...
rgmwa Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 The aeroclub C152 that I learned to fly in. Well, one of them anyway - they have quite a few. rgmwa
FlyingVizsla Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Under the premise that owners look like their dogs - I have long brown hair and going a little grey. The dog is "Sandy" my Hungarian Vizsla who flew all over the place with me. Unfortunately he cashed in his chips at 12yrs and I have been dogless ever since. Vizsla is pronounced VEE-sh-lah and the pural is Vizslac. Highly intelligent dog - would have another in a snap. I had my real picture on my profile, but I don't know if that is possible now. Sue 1
Deskpilot Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 My avatar is like me, a bit different from the normal.............in a good way Actually it shows that I'm into home designs that are out of the ordinary, and, I hope, attracts people to what I have to say..............even if it is shyte at times.
facthunter Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Judge the tree by the fruit it bears.. Nev
Bandit12 Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Is that why you have an enormous phallic symbol as your avatar Nev? He who bears much fruit is a virile man?
facthunter Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 To the pure in heart, ALL things are pure. My symbol indicates a lack of ability/ motivation to come up with something better. ( so far)...Nev
skeptic36 Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Because that is the ATAR score my daughter has just achieved. Isn't she clever
Nostalgair Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 My avatar features the 'There and Back' Jabiru J230 with a RAAF FA-18 as the backdrop. A great memory from a great trip around Australia.
Guernsey Posted December 16, 2011 Author Posted December 16, 2011 I just use a photo of my plane. Although some of your landings may be a close shave, you always finish up with a smooooth landing. Carpenter Alan. 1
facthunter Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Pale forks, Did you name your plane Stanley? If that's not appropriate, you could have gone for a Record. Nev
old man emu Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 I just use a photo of my plane. You got jack, bro.
Guernsey Posted December 17, 2011 Author Posted December 17, 2011 To the pure in heart, ALL things are pure. My symbol indicates a lack of ability/ motivation to come up with something better. ( so far)...Nev We should all put our heads together and come up with something for Nev. Old Man Emu certainly found a good one for me.
