sain Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I've been daydreaming a bit today about places I'd quite like to fly over and see one day. One of those things is the Marree Man Geoglyph (image from stolspeed aerodynamics site: http://www.stolspeed.com/coober-pedy-trip ). I was wondering if anybody knows or has flown over any other interesting geoglyphs? I believe there are a few in WA, but I have not been able to locate any pictures. 1
pudestcon Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 There is a "Readymix" logo just North of the highway out around Balladonia on the Nullabor. I'll see if I still have the co-ordinates - you can see it on Google Earth. Found it.. 32.14.05 S 125.19.35 E Pud
Deskpilot Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Apparently, the Marree Man is rapidly disappearing. If so, you need to get there ASAP
turboplanner Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 There was a geoglyph on Lake Hume for a while too, but water doesn't keep its shape as long. 1
Guernsey Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I recon my Avatar would make a good one. We've got an airfield that could do with a bit of artwork.........on second thoughts my reputation might put off people wanting to land there. Oh well it was just a thought. Silly old cow Alan. 1

sain Posted January 12, 2012 Author Posted January 12, 2012 Apparantly its still visible if you approach from the SE (I think). I wonder if the Marree community will organise somebody to redo it. You should do it Alan... it'll raise the profile of flying cows everywhere. 1
Gnarly Gnu Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 I wonder if the Marree community will organise somebody to redo it. Well I doubt it coz the natives cracked a spaz when it was first done.
