vowelmummy Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Hi Everyone, I decided to join this forum for two reasons really... second priority but first long term is that the Hubby has always wanted to get his pilots licence and it is actually on the radar now. LOL. So here to get some advice etc. on how to go about it, where is good etc. We are Melbourne based... First priority is that I was wondering if anyone goes from Melbourne to Griffith, NSW as we are looking for some help transporting some chooks as it is a hell of a drive that I don't really want to keep doing long term... Any direction on the second item would be appreciated (and the first in due time). Thanks! Christine
.Evan. Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Hi Christine, If you are out in the West or the North of Melbourne, you could consider Bacchus Marsh, Penfield (Sunbury) or even Ballarat. All three have various Recreational Schools on site. I can personally vouch for Inbound Aviation in Ballarat. Cheers, Evan
fatmal Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 There's also AirSports, based at Penfield (just north of Sunbury). www.goflying.com.au Phone is 03 9744 1305. Ask for Terry. Mal

I've seen chicken trucks on the road and expect they would be delivering to Melbourne sheds from Griffith so you might be lucky with a sweetheart deal on the empty truck. Not sure how regular they are. I agree it's a bloody long drive.
