The reason that Doug is posting is that he rang me earlier today and we had a good chat about flying things in the local area... It appears that there are actually plenty of us up here but we don't seem to run cross paths too often. Last year Mackay777, Hongie and I had a few meetings and discussed the possibility of starting a Recreational Flying Club (as apposed to the several GA Fossil Collector clubs already in the area) but it seemed to fizzle out... personally I think the idea has merit and at the very least we need to Start a mailing list or contact list in order to get people at least talking...?

On the agenda for this year and as briefly mentioned a couple of months ago, I hope to start a Chapter System...Aircraft Pilots X Chapter...that groups of users can start up for their region and have a section here on the site for it.

 

Sue mentioned it towards the end of last year so I will be talking to her and anyone else who would like to get involved in starting up and helping to run the Chapter System soon.

That sounds like a good idea... perhaps if you had a mailing list system (or whetever is the best for the job these days) it would be a great avenue for groups.
