That would be the gear warning horn that was going off. shame they never heard it because of the noise cancelling headsets they where wearing.

I was waiting for one of them to do their lolly but they seemed reasonably OK about it all. Like a bit of panel beating of the prop would fix it....

That is what I was thinking. What ever happen too "Positive rate of climb, Gear up".

Except that Mooney looks like an older C model which would have had the manual undercarriage, not electric. Looks like one bump too many and the u/c managed to unlock.

Good Point papa Fox.I had totally forgot about the early versions with Manual gear.Now Im thinking that the handle was not locked in the "Up" position (against the firewall).

I found a good explanation for the manual gear at. www.donmaxwell.com then go to publications.Then scroll down to" Operating the manual gear."Good photos there as well.

Downwind checks, hmmm keep the gear up as we are close to the hill

Lets do a short field landing

 

Ever tried those Q tip props captain.

 

What can you say there are those that have landed wheels up and those yet to

 

Glad they got out of it relativley unscathed .
