Tex Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 That would be the gear warning horn that was going off. Yep, all the way to the ground...
Owi Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Golly, that's one expensive lesson. But, apparently, it even happens to the best of us.
Gnarly Gnu Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I was waiting for one of them to do their lolly but they seemed reasonably OK about it all. Like a bit of panel beating of the prop would fix it....

PapaFox Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Except that Mooney looks like an older C model which would have had the manual undercarriage, not electric. Looks like one bump too many and the u/c managed to unlock.

Good Point papa Fox.I had totally forgot about the early versions with Manual gear. Now Im thinking that the handle was not locked in the "Up" position (against the firewall). I found a good explanation for the manual gear at. www.donmaxwell.com then go to publications. Then scroll down to" Operating the manual gear."Good photos there as well.
