This excellent documentary recently aired on the BBC, some kind soul has put it on YouTube in 4 parts.

Many of you may have read Antony Woodward's book Propellerhead about his antics flying Thrusters around Britain, in this documentary we follow Antony and others as they re-attempt the Around Britain Rally.

Loved the doco and thanks Sleemanj. Woodwards's book "Propellorhead" mentioned in the preamble is an excellent read for all rec pilots (not just rag & tube types). If you can beg, borrow or steal a copy, enjoyment is guaranteed.

What a brilliant doco - and what a brilliant idea.

Great doco, great idea, but...

It would be so much better if the teams weren't doing everything you shouldn't do while flying.

Come on, a massive cross country flight, by:

- team where one of the pilots is way out of practice (haven't flown for 10 years) and the other can't fly more than 30 minutes,

- other team, where the passenger is terrified of flying

- and the third where the pilot has massive experience, but still decides to do crazy stuff like unbuckling in his trike and make midair refueling.

The idea itself is also great, but it encourages people to go past their limitations, ignore all the human factors, because one just needs some extra points in the competition.

It was a good view except for the negative input at the begining by the commentator saying how dangerous and unreliable their engines were. I know that they were mainly Rotax 912's but lets face it they do have a some reliability. I would have been very annoyed if there were Jab motors present and he was making such disparaging remarks! 004_oh_yeah.gif.82b3078adb230b2d9519fd79c5873d7f.gif
