Tomo Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 That's heaps cool! Here is a screen shot from Google Earth -
Guest Maj Millard Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 That's it Tomo..thanks. Simple, easy to do, great nav aid, is that why the yanks have been to the moon and nobody else has yet ?? Lets see what CASA can come up with, to stop us painting names on airstrips. Distracting, disorrenting, confusing ???? Elderslie has been used as a Skydiving DZ since the early 70s, there is a huge 'back to Elderslie' thing on next year which I will be attending. I'll fly down and may drop in on you again Tommo, then Casino. Looking foward to it......................................................

BruceScott Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 thought it looked like the mallee area, how about donald. Cheers Bruce
BruceScott Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Hi Geoff this one looks a bit harder, the donald one just looked familiar landscape. Few lakes in the background, Will keep thinking, Bruce
BruceScott Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Hi Geoff Looking at that photo got me wondering where it was, I thought that it had to be somewhere where larger aircraft used it and the big sheds. No real town close handy so has to be a large regional airport. Somewhere near the coast looking at the country. Cheers Bruce
Geoff Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Near water yes and it has a bit of a town close handy.
BruceScott Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 G'day Geoff Just dawned on me, the bay is there, is it be avalon. maybe:clap: The big sheds are the qantas maintenance hangers. Bruce
Geoff Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Yep Avalon it is Bruce. I don't know if you get around much this one is a bit further away.

Geoff Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Kingscote it is not bad from a guy from Temora. Guess I will have to up the anti a bit.
BruceScott Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 i_dunno Hmm a little bit harder, have not been to too many airports as yet, but have seen a bit of country from the ground. Could it be somewhere east of the adelaide hills, but this is just a really wild guess. Cheers Bruce
Geoff Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Bruce you need to look north from where you live at least 1000 or more k
