Admin Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Hi All For many many years this site has always required that users have "real" identities in an attempt to help protect all users by requiring them to enter their real name and phone number when registering to use the vast "FREE" resources that are available to them here on Aircraft Pilots. However when we moved to the new software this was dropped which has resulted in a lot of work and trouble on the site so these requirements have returned. Already 2 users have been banned for incorrect or invalid information being used BUT at the same time 1 user was instantly helped with a problem he was having with the site and he can now log in without any problems or delays. This was fixed within minutes before he even knew he was going to have a problem...all because of the site registration information that was provided. Those 2 users that have been banned have been provided with my phone number for them to ring so we can correct their information and lift their bans...everything that is done here is done so for a reason...to try and help everyone, and the site, to try and bring some integrity, reliability and quality to the site and especially for all users. Your registration information is confidential and in fact a few months ago the RAAus wanted to know the information of a user here of which we declined to provide them as your registration information IS CONFIDENTIAL as it is clearly spelled out in the site's Rules. There is no room on this site, this resource, for those that have an attitude of being a smartarse because they are not doing this just to the site but they are doing this to ALL of you other users. Please help Aircraft Pilots (.com) in being a trusted and respected resource by all aviators and by the industry as a whole!
winsor68 Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Thanks for the clarification Ian... I noticed the banner asking for more info. Thought it was strange because I was sure I had already entered it.
Guest SAJabiruflyer Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Is the information stored encrypted / secure? e.g. If a hacker decided to hack this site, and/or the server(s) it resides on, could he/she access such stored details?
Admin Posted February 6, 2012 Author Posted February 6, 2012 If a hacker wanted to hack the CIA servers they will...and have done!
Guest SAJabiruflyer Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Are you sure you're not a politician??
