farri Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Frank's (farri) place,Couldn't resist a better look at the shed , Goodonya Tex.. That Google Earth shot was taken a while back, fair bit of difference now. Tough little old shed that! Cyclone Yasi rearranged it a bit but all good again now and well worth your investment. Frank.
shags_j Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Guys this is great. Makes me very jealous that you just taxi out the back of the house for a flight and I have to drive an hour and a bit... Great looking strips all. Will have to visit some of them some time.
farri Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Guys this is great. Makes me very jealous that you just taxi out the back of the house for a flight and I have to drive an hour and a bit...Great looking strips all. Will have to visit some of them some time. Shags! I`m curious! Is it Shags cause you get plenty or because you hope to get, some? Seriously though! Way back when I was trying to decide which way to go with flying, Fran and I had very little money, we were raising three children, paying off a property and the price we were getting for sugar cane was very poor, so I decide that if I was ever going to be able to get to fly, I would have to build my own Ultralight aircraft and fly off our own property. I built the AC , for less $$$ than it would have cost me to get a GA licence, which I couldn`t have afforded to use, anyway! Took the sugar cane off the block, because the cane wasn`t worth much, made a strip and learnt to fly the AC.... Everything else then followed from there. Some people thought I was nuts and that I`d lost the plot and some people probably still do! Doesn`t matter to me! The people most important to me never did and still don`t. We were able to manage the lot and over the years, one of the real advantages of the direction I chose to take with my flying, has been, the many, many, interesting people that Fran and I have met here and who also got to experience the joy of flying and Shags! You`ll be welcome here any time. Frank. Ps, I`ve gone on a bit, havn`t I.... I must have needed to.

Steve Vette Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 X marks the spot! Frank. Hi Frank. This photo brings back many fond memories from way back, when the wife and myself drove our Volvo prime mover into your place to go flying. They most certainly were the good old days. Hope you remember our red Volvo F 10. Cheers for now. Steve. 1
farri Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 G`Day Steve, I do remember and I`m very pleased to hear from you, errrr! Read from you I told Fran as soon as I read your post and she said " yeah he went to west Australia and started a flying school". You make absolutely sure that if you get up to this area you come in and see Fran and me and I certainly will take you up in the Drifter. Cheers and all the best, Frank.
