Admin
Hi All I have purchased the new feature, the "Aircraft Pilots Socialise System" for all registered users. You will now find in the bottom right corner of your screen a little block that looks like this: Clicking the little green arrow will always take you to the top of the page Clicking the "Socialise" will open a popup that looks like this: Click the "Instant Chat" and you will see registered users that are currently online that you can start an instant chat with. You can use smilies, share a whiteboard, create a text document like a letter together and much more. We will be developing this new system a lot further with many great tools for you to use whilst you are here and logged in at Aircraft Pilots. Hope you enjoy the extra feature and here is a couple of videos about the new "Aircraft Pilots Socialise System":
Admin
What I would like to know, and to provide you with an even better user experience, is apart from the instant chat what other functions would you like to have available to you in the "Aircraft Pilots Socialise System"? Remember where ever you are on the site, whether it is composing a post or reading one, browsing a thread or the events calendar, reading the news or adding an image in the gallery, you can click the box at the bottom right corner of your screen and have many things available for you without interrupting what you are currently doing. So please let me know what you would like to have available at your fingertips at all times...thanks
FlyingVizsla
On the map (Online - Who's on line) I appear on College Road St Lucia in the Uni of Qld - somehow it can't find Springsure even though it is on the map. In an earlier rendition (one of the other options that had a map?) I appeared in the middle of Australia. Sue

Admin
Sue, it all depends what exchange you are using...that particular tool doesn't show your exact address due to privacy, I use another one personally for that, but the one you are seeing is really just a help to other users to get an idea of round about where another user is from just in case you have something that you may like to chat about like..."hey, I am flying down your way this Saturday, do you want to catch up for a coffee?" sort of thing...it's all about socialising together as a community with a common interest
FlyingVizsla
That probably explains why I was in the middle of Australia when on my wireless broadband and St.Lucia at home. Then I thought maybe the duck pond on College Rd St Lucia might have been named Springsure Lakes or something. There's only one telstra exchange at Springsure where I am on a land line so that's a mystery. I thought is worked off my entry in "location" in my profile. Anyway - I have company now - 2 others are at the College Rd address - perhaps we should meet up? There doesn't seem to be a way to separate clustered people to see who they are. I found where I was when everyone else was logging off to go to bed. I rather like Universities - having spent so much time in them - I might learn something more...... Thanks for the little gadget. Admin
I have to be careful how it can be used because of privacy...there is a fine line between helping each other and stepping on their toes...a case of damned if I do and damned if I don't...but let's make this a great community of trustworthy, decent and friendly users who can socialise with each other because of our common interest
eightyknots
On the map, I seem to appear about 500 km away from where I really am. Perhaps this info is provided by the ISP and relates to their head office position?

You hit it on head 80K, mines the same - the ISP connects through to the public internet in another state ... and so I show up as being in Sydney! Yes, you seem to be behind your computer in inner Sydney: in Bourke Street, Darlinghurst, to be exact.
Admin
Guys...I thought it best that Privacy dictates...if we know someone's address we can see their front door on Google Earth...if you want to show your address just be specific with house number and street name in the Location field of your settings. Other users can click Location in the user box on the left of your posts and Google Earth will popup showing it...for those that don't want to be specific just put your suburb and State in their and you will right
Admin
Update...just in case there are users out there whose English is their 2nd language, I have added a "Translate" tool to the Aircraft Pilots Socialise System. You can now view the site in any one of many different languages that I hope you may find useful if you need it. Simply click "Translate" in the Socialise menu and select your preferred language. The site will automatically in a few seconds be translated to your selected language. Hope this helps!
