Deskpilot Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 I just love the simple clean lines of this aircraft. Poetry of motion in the air, so graceful. Enjoy. 2
sfGnome Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 That is beautiful, isn't it? Early in the video I was thinking "wouldn't it be great if it had retracts?", and next thing up go the wheels! So nice. Not sure about the wheels-up (almost) touch and go in the middle though - a bit ugly if he had a ground strike with the prop. Is it a one-off design or are plans available?
Riley Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 For about the past 60+ years as an aviation afficianado, to attract my serious interest an aircraft had to have a high-wing, be tractor configured and have a tail wheel. This little wing really caught my attention and has punched holes in what I thought I thought. I'd love to get up close & personal with one. Thanks for the post Mr Deskpilot.

Deskpilot Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 And I thought anorexic women had the ugliest legs Somehow, the Pul-9 doesn't look right. Maybe it's thinner wing profile unbalances it. All the same, I'm going to google it. BTW, Riley. MR Deskpilot!!! DP or Doug, please. You make me feel old and revered
kgwilson Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Horten Nurflügel Panek Ultralight 10 . And its been flying since 1992 Pul 9 . Doesn't look right. I know I know there will be a large $ difference. Before I looked at the video I thought it was some sort of a cantilevered powered hang glider, then I thought it would yaw badly until I saw the large amount of washout. The combo ailerons, flaps & elevators certainly simplify the control surfaces but need a different mindset to use. The original Horten flying wings though were from memory one of Hitlers secret stealth weapons from WWII.
