I see Garmin have released an app for both Apple and Android.

It is available for 30 day free trial, have not tried it yet but will as soon as I get a chance.

At $99-00 a year subscription a bit pricey compared to a few others out there but I have found Garmin products reliable in the past.

Anyone tried it? Let us know

Useful if you're flying in the US - or Canada...

I saw it advertised in the latest EAA mag last night. Searched for "Garmin Pilot" in the App store on my iPhone . . . Nothing.

Yeah it's not available in Australia, won't allow me to install it (off the website). It doesn't show up in the app store either

That's probably to stop Australian pilots flying on North American maps and getting lost!

Just checked on Android "Google Play", and can't see it there either.

There is an interesting app called "GPS ILS VOR Glass cockpit" which looks like it comes out of the Czech Republic. They provide a Short user guide in PDF format. Their web site is still being built, so has no content except the download.

The navigation database is from X-Plane! and elevation data from "CGIAR - Consortium for Spatial Information"

I haven't bothered downloading it. The thought of using a flight sim game database for actual flight guidance just doesn't do anything for me, particularly when my GPS does all this based on fully licensed Jeppersen data, updated every 28 days.
