They aren't everyone's cup of tea, but as a first plane the Tornado with a rebuilt rotax engine is a better option than refurbishing a drifter or thruster.

Whats the stall speed with flap FT and what are the normal and short field approach speeds?

tornado 1 is 30mph, II is 45 circuit speed is around the 60-65mph mark.

Good document except there appears to be a typo on the last page, how can Vso (43mph) be a higher speed than Vs1 (38mph)? Vso is the stall speed in the landing config (typically full flap), Vs1 is typically the stall speed in a clean configuration at 1G.
