ayavner
wonder what that would take to get airworthy again.... heh note the fine adjustment tool down by the LH tyre....

Old Koreelah
Full marks for enthusiasm and initiative, but I wonder about that wing profile. Looks like an aerobatic shape- would work as well upside down.
eightyknots
The propellor has been nicely varnished so far. It is evident that the restoration project is starting at the front and working its way back.
damkia
I wonder what model car the engine is from? Look at the air filter on top and the coil near leftmost kid's left hand.... Guest nunans
She's alright, I'd fly it if the wing struts were welded on instead of G-clamped, the wings were covered and the balance was checked. The motor is not that important, lots of gliders don't even come with a motor...

eightyknots
Layland P76 Possibly this is a Tata Motors engine? See article: "Third Nano goes up in flames, this one in Delhi" Source: http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2010-08-28/india-business/28320811_1_tata-nano-safe-car-tata-motors

Tomo
If the wings turn out like the tail section, it'll look quite good I reckon. Will be interesting weight and balance, but we're talking about enthusiasm here, they'll work something out. Once you travel OS and see some of these places and what they do, it wouldn't surprise me if they get a finished flying project one way or the other. Pilot Pete
Unless we know the full story and the materials used, dont underestimate the ingenuity of the Indians to produce something flyable from this hodgepodge of metal and motor. Give them a gun or machine and they can reproduce it with basic tools in their homes.
