dazza 38 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Just heard a rumour that Skip will be at Avalon next year. Mark Jefferies announced that he will be here with his Extra. I realy like Mark. Jefferies I watched him climb to altitiude in a Yak 50 at Wanaka in 1998.Rolling off the top of loops in a Yak 50.It was fantastic. I even met him in england a few months later. Little Granstead airfield. Top Bloke. 2
Mark11 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Unfortunately nobody's making the low cost fully aerobatic ultralight amphibian bush plane I want..... The quote above was part of a post on another forum.... But sums up what I was thinking also!!! LOL http://www.homebuiltairplanes.com/forums/light-stuff-area/4859-new-design-project-aerobatic-ultralight-biplane.html
kaz3g Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 People are amazed to hear I'm scared of heights, quite happy in a drifter ,or any aircraft ,but put me on the roof of my house and it's not pretty! I like to be inside when there is flying to be done....none of this Drifter sitting out in the breeze for me, thanks. Ruins the hairdo! Kaz
djpacro Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 I realy like Mark .... I even met him in england a few months later.... Top Bloke. I will organise a dinner then. Will you be at Avalon?
dazza 38 Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Not sure David . It will depend on my work Roster.Cheers though.
djpacro Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Was just talking to Mark so we will organise something during the show. 1
facthunter Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I'm similar to MM2. The drifter doesn't bother me and it is just the best easily available plane for vision from the front seat. I know some pilots who can't stand the feeling of having little under them. I hate being close to a full height window or the edge of a roof. Looking at the ground from FL 370 is just like looking at a carpet. Flying in a DH 82 inverted and hanging in the straps with no canopy there, is DIFFERENT, and I never got quite comfortable with it, but you just do it anyway. Nev
djpacro Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 More from Skip at http://m.youtube.com/?reload=3&rdm=m42fmd8a#/watch?v=LLVXDz9Fg0I&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DLLVXDz9Fg0I Hopefully this discourages people from low level aerobatics. 2
metalman Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Interesting way to check out a new wing,,,,10 feet agl,,,,knife edge,,,yeh seems okay,,,,,I was also wondering if his downwind checks are done during the downwind rolls or before,,,, Met
djpacro Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I was also wondering if his downwind checks are done during the downwind rolls or before,,,, before take-off.By comparison, Mark Jefferies:
rankamateur Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Must have been distracting when his visor popped up just before the end of that display. All that smoke and he flies with the window open.
