fatmal Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 In a bizarre twist, the NTSB has had to call in the Canadian Transport Safety Board (TSB) to investigate a midair crash in the United States, involving US-built aircraft, and piloted by US citizens. Why? Piloting one plane, a Beechcraft, was the NTSB's Chief medical Officer, and in the other, a PA28, was a crash investigator with the FAA. The TSB has been called in as an impartial investigator. Guest pookemon Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 How on earth did he "land" that? Even if the wing had been torn off by a tree near the ground it's amazing the PA-28 isn't just a scattering of parts.

Why?[/quote] I can't imagine Australia using its northern neighbours (Indonesia, East Timor or Papua New Guinea) being invited to investigate a mid-air collision ...ever! Piloting one plane, a Beechcraft, was the NTSB's Chief medical Officer, and in the other, a PA28, was a crash investigator with the FAA. The TSB has been called in as an impartial investigator. This sounds like a genuine case of Red Faces All Around!
