Hangar 9 P-47 Thunderbolt. 2.1m wingspan. Refinished and detailed out. Powered by 30cc Moki 2 stroke.

I sold this one a couple of years ago to fund the 2.47m wingspan P-47 that I currently have half built.

Here's what my fleet looked like about 10 years ago.

I was heavily into pattern ( precision aerobatics ) back then as well as the warbirds. The big Spitfire was actually my fathers, it has a wingspan of 2.4m

This one is not mine but I did a refurb and updated all electrics on it for a mate.

Balsa USA Stearman, wingspan 10 feet, powered by a horizontally opposed twin pot 100cc 2 stroke.

Just to give the size of this model some perspective, the bench it is sitting on is made up of 2 standard size house doors!!!

Beautiful work Mick, love that Hurricane.

There's a full size flying version in the Wanaka Air Museum, and it's one of the few aircraft that has an aura about it when standing still - brilliant design.

Is this the one you got Matt to sign under the wing at Bundy airshow? If so I was the one there with Matt at the time. 001_smile.gif.2cb759f06c4678ed4757932a99c02fa0.gif

You do a beautiful job of building them amazing.

Hey Tomo,

Kyosho Gee Bee Model Z. Wingspan 1.5m powered by OS 61 SF 2 stroke (10cc).

This one flies alot better than you would imagine as long as it is going fast, landings provide plenty of giggles for the spectators though.

Try emailing the pics to yourself before posting. If you're using Windows they should be automatically reduced in size below 50kb.

1/7 th scale F15 twin turbine 20kg of thrust each

Do you have any trouble keeping within visible range, keeping orientated with what it's doing?

Well not as big as I would like...need to work on it.

Very untidy, sorry however some of my models (those I havn't demolished yet) all foam easy to fly cheap to run and a good laugh. My Corsair shot down a Zero once by running into it and removing tail. Other fella not amused but I did replace it for him

No rudders? Has this flown yet?

Flying very fast models requires practice to be able to stay ahead of them also for orientation but it really is practice . Most turbine models are large so you can fly a fair distance away but they also can get away from you and out of sight very fast then they usually crash because they don't self level you must fly them all the time. Most jets we fly are around 150 to 200 kph thats comfortable because we have so much power available now we have a saying "you only use full power for takeoff and showoff" the rest of the time you are usually around half power. The fastest one I have flown went through the radar gun at 380kph....man that took some major concentration. I saw one being flown in Denmark when I was there it was flying at 565 kph it was measured by the army there with missile tracking radar...I have a video there but couldn't get it in the frame at all it was useless
