planedriver Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Then it got to be this color What on earth were you thinking?, must have been a present for the misses!
planedriver Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 That looks better with another flavor added. Plenty of rudder offset to keep lines tight. What motor are you putting in it?
planet47 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 A little diesel motor - still attempting to refine my artistic abilities and the purple turned out to be so dark it's almost navy and I'm attempting to paint the rudder at the moment.
Narrabeenrick Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Thought I would start a thread for you to post pics of whatever models you have.So for starters here is my ESM Hurricane. Refinished & detailed up. Wingspan 1.8m power is a OS 120 4 stroke ( 20cc ). Very nice , I love the detail
Narrabeenrick Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Hi Guys Now I know this is for planes BUT !!!!!!! I do build and fly them and this little creation of my came from the plane building :} The idea came from flying my Catalina down at Narrabeen lakes. I was forever changing servos because of the saltwater, Once I worked out a way to waterproof the servos, Presto !!!!!!!!! for some reason I thought of building the shark. Let me know what you think. There is also a video of it swimming on youtube Enjoy Cheers Rick 4 2
rgmwa Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Very impressive. Ever thought about scaling it up a bit - say to around 5-6m? rgmwa

planet47 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I think the hangar fees went up today ........
Mick Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 you guys are falling behind the yanks That model belongs to Ali Machinchy. Ali is actually a pom not a yank, but those photos were taken the USA. Ali is a professional model pilot who is paid to travel all over the world to fly displays. He also pays to have his models built for him. We can only dream about modelling ever being big enough to fund that sort of thing in Australia. I met Ali at an event outside Brisbane in Feb 2013 that he was paid to attend. Nice guy and very down to earth considering his ability & what he has achieved. 1
planedriver Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Love seeing all this stuff, but still waiting to see an R/C scale model of the Dova Skylark alongside it's big brother.. You'd have to do that Mick! Could make a great photo. Kind Regards Planey. 1

Could make a great photo. Kind Regards Planey. I think I would do a model of our Sportstar before I would do one of the Skylark. The Skylark's T-tail would be a pain to build and the winglets would have to be made removable or the wing panels would be a pain to transport. Cheers! 1

planedriver Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Even a model of yours of a recycled beer can would be great to see. Your models are the envy of so many who do not posses such skills.
Mick Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 Finally flew this one a couple of weeks ago. It was started about five years ago, but I did not get serious about it until August last year. Republic P-47 Thunderbolt. Wingspan 2.46m, weight 15.4 kg, powered by a Desert Aircraft 85cc 2 stroke. Painted in the colours of 134 Sqn of the RAF based in Burma in 1944. Cheers! 8
planedriver Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Looks great! both on the ground and in the air. Well done.

Actually Ali is a Iranian, he and his father flew in the Jet World Masters for the Iranian team in Thailand, when I was in the Australian team. Thats when I met him back in 2000 I think it was. One hell of a nice guy he is too.
