There are vast areas where many of us would like to get to for that break away from the rat race of the world however, many of these places are not easily accessed by flying our aircraft with a lot of this due to the many closures of airfields around our great country.

An option that seems to be less restricted by the availability of places to land though is flying an amphibian aircraft which has the luxury of being able to land not only on a hard surfaced airstrip, but also on the vast number of lakes, rivers, inlets, bays etc.

So, out of curiosity, would flying/learning to fly an amphibian aircraft be of any interest to you?

No interest for me at all. I can see how it would be of interest to many people though.

The only lakes around where I fly are dried out salt lakes!!

I've flown in float planes in Canada and would buy one if I lived there but not enough water in Adelaide.

Flying floats is the most fun I have had flying - I've flown variouse ultralights, G.A., Aerobatics, Formation and a bit of low level and nothing compares to landing on a calm water surface, pulling up to a beach and getting out for a swim. Its a must try as far as I'm concerened for everyone!
