Kyle Communications Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cseTX_rW3uM! Not full-size flying but very impressive anyway
damkia Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 WOW, and HOW? This rates up there with Honda's "It just works" ad campaign a couple of years ago in terms of "incredible-ness"
Deskpilot Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Forgot to say before, shades of "Encounters of the Third kind" Damkia, re HOW? Google 'Quadrotors' Brilliant little toys. 1
Kyle Communications Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 These electric radio control helicopters or quaracopter or hexacopters started life as models controlled by normal radio control then by iPhone apps etc also they have gyros on board in most directions and now gps and full autonomous modes where they will fly a preprogrammed path via gps. These were done in that way I would suspect but it does show how accurate they can fly....this is in the public domain and can be bought for surprisingly not much monet....so if we can get this tech......what the hell do the military have????....makes you think doesn't it 1

Honestly there must have been a bit of rehearsal, or a s***load of preparation. Getting those things to stay put for more than 5 secs is a decent task in itself. The only way I could see that many doing that many maneuvers is by accident... If that is what is in our future ....GPS landings for LSA.... Yeah... 1
Kyle Communications Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 The model fraternity have spent an enormous amount of time and money to get these copter things doing autonomous stuff. Don't forget when inside a building with no wind they stay exactly where they are put when doing it outside they do wobble around a bit in the wind. These things are loaded with extremely good electronic gyros on every axis 1
